Immigration, settlement process and mental health challenges of immigrants/ refugees: Alternative care thinking

This paper discusses progressive thinking and clinical views on improving mental health practice for immigrants refugees. It addresses policy, care delivery, professionals’ attitudes, immigrants’ access to — all factors especially pertinent in major immigration hubs. The data was gathered from invited presentations discussions among participants at an international multidisciplinary symposium, including social scientists Toronto (Canada) Paris (France), urban centres attracting large numbers of immigrant refugees who constantly encounter challenges their successful settlement. focus is alternative innovative approaches better understanding these populations’ behavior. Recommendations how advance knowledge relevant two hubs were documented, underpinned by the consensus that economic disparities, societal political forces, as well cultural linguistic factors, influence refugees’ vulnerability regarding stability.
